The CRTPO has been working on an update to its Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) and the plan was adopted by the CRTPO Board on March 23, 2022.

Host a Presentation
The CRTPO presented information about the MTP to civic, religious, business, neighborhood, or other interested groups throughout the two-year plan development. The intent was to provide an overview of the 2050 MTP and inform residents how they can stay involved with this and other important transportation planning initiatives. If your organization is interested in a future virtual or in-person presentation, please email CRTPO at email@example.com.
The CRTPO Board is scheduled to take action on the MTP, TIP, and air quality conformity determination report on March 23, 2022.
The Program of Projects required by 49 USC 5307 is a subset of the Transportation Improvement Program and the public review and comment solicited for this Transportation Improvement Program is intended to include and satisfy the public review and comment required under 49 USC 5307 (c) (1) through (7) for Urbanized Area Formula Program for the public transit systems in the CRTPO planning area.
Charlotte area 5th Graders learn about the MTP and provide ideas on transportation planning
CRTPO created a transportation planning activity for Charlotte area 5th graders. Students were asked to add improvements to a fictitious town and had a set budget to work with. CRTPO held a public comment period from November 19 through December 31, 2020 to seek feedback on updates to the 2050 MTP Goals and Objectives and potential projects to be evaluated within the plan.
